Professional Biography

Charles Gordon is a senior staff attorney in the Newark office. He has worked for SEOLS and its predecessor firm, Central Ohio Legal Services, since 1988. Charles was the 2014 recipient of the John Pembroke Award, which is given for exemplary qualities as an advocate, employee, and friend of Ohio State Legal Services Association.


Charles says his favorite part of his job is trying to help individuals out of difficult situations in order to better their lives. He says SEOLS makes a difference in our clients’ lives because “Every day we see instances where we have helped keep people in their homes by providing them assistance in foreclosure and eviction actions. We see the benefits of assisting individuals with obtaining and maintaining public benefits along with advising them on debt relief. Further, there is the impact we have in protecting individuals by filing civil protection orders and working to keep children in safe environments, along with numerous other types of legal assistance we provide.”
