Kristen Finzel Lewis

Biography

Kristen Finzel Lewis is a senior staff attorney in the New Philadelphia office.  She joined SEOLS as a staff attorney in 2001 and was promoted to her current position in 2010.  She is responsible for handling a variety of client matters including housing, consumer, domestic relations, and public benefit cases.  Kristen is currently the chairperson for the SEOLS Housing Team, a member of the Ohio Housing Taskforce Advocacy Team, and program manager for SEOLS’s Fair Housing Education and Outreach grant.

Kristen says her favorite part of her job is knowing that the work she does today provides families with a better hope for tomorrow.  She says SEOLS makes a difference for clients’ lives through “the value of our work, which is apparent in our outcomes – saving families from the loss of their homes through foreclosure or eviction; ensuring that parents are able to provide safe and stable homes for their children; protecting families from abuse – by an abusive family member or even by an abusive system; ensuring that parents can buy adequate food for their families and get the medical care that they and their children need to live full and productive lives.  Our work changes lives in a myriad of ways every day.”
