Reentry

REENTRY

SEOLS helps people navigate our complex legal system in a variety of ways, such as legal information, advice, or representation. SEOLS’s Reentry Team gives help like advice and representation to people with the following reentry issues:

  • Criminal record sealing/expungement
  • Driver’s license reinstatement
  • Certificates of Qualification for Employment: CQEs are applications that people with previous felony or misdemeanors convictions make to the court to lift collateral sanctions that stop them from being considered for jobs in a particular field. CQEs are issued by the state of Ohio to people with criminal records who have voluntarily gone through a review process conducted by rehabilitation officials, a judge and probation department. They are designed to assist people with criminal records in obtaining employment.

People can often handle common reentry issues with legal information. Visit the Resource Center for applications for record sealing, information about Certificates of Qualification for Employment, and guides regarding the steps you need to take to reinstate your driver’s license.

SEOLS may be able to represent you if:

  • You have applied for record sealing or a Certificate of Qualification for Employment and been denied
  • You have been told you are not eligible for certain occupational licenses
  • You’re having trouble getting your driver’s license back

If would like to speak to an attorney about representation, please apply online or call 844-302-1800
